Lindholm scored in 3rd as Ducks rally past Capitals for ninth straight win, 3-2

WASHINGTON - Hampus Lindholm scored the game-winner at 14:24 of the third period and the Anaheim Ducks rallied past the Washington Capitals 3-2 Monday night in coach Bruce Boudreau's return to the Verizon Center.

Andrew Cogliano had a goal and an assist, and Saku Koivu added a goal for Anaheim. The Ducks (27-7-5) extended their franchise-best winning streak to nine games and lead the NHL with 58 points.

Lindholm, who added an assist, grabbed a rebound and fired through traffic from the slot for his third goal of the season.

A potential tying goal on a shot by Alex Ovechkin hit the crossbar and landed just outside the line with about three minutes left was reviewed and ruled no goal.

Anaheim's Jonas Hilller had 16 saves.

Mikhail Grabovski and Nicklas Backstrom scored for Washington.

Quote of the Day

There was a lot of talk off the ice. From a player's standpoint, that's not the talk in the room. GMs make decisions, coaches make decisions, but as a team you have to come together and be ready to go, and we are.
