BOSTON -- Buffalo Sabres forward Cody Hodgson did not return to the game Thursday against the Boston Bruins after leaving with an upper-body injury.

"It could be a little while," Sabres interim coach Ted Nolan said about Hodgson. "We'll get the doctor's report after this."

Hodgson played 4:30 in six shifts in the first period at TD Garden.

Hodgson has 19 points (eight goals) in 33 games this season. He was playing for the first time since Dec. 10, after missing two games with a lower-body injury.

Quote of the Day

He's a winner. We want winners here, and he's a proven winner. He's won two Stanley Cups. He's 22 years old and been a big part of it. He's got all the right tools. He's got size (6-foot-1, 204 pounds) and strength. He's exactly what we were looking for. He's going to be a big piece of our team for many, many years to come.
