The New York Rangers recalled forward J.T. Miller from Hartford of the American Hockey League on Thursday. Forward Arron Asham and defenseman Dylan McIlrath were assigned to the Wolf Pack.

Miller, 20, has a goal and an assist in 17 games with the Rangers. Assigned to Hartford on Dec. 9, Miller leads the Wolf Pack with a plus-five rating, and ranks second in goals (seven). He was the Rangers' first-round pick (No. 15) in the 2011 NHL Draft.

Asham returns to Hartford after skating in three of four games with the Rangers after he was recalled from Hartford earlier this month. McIlrath, the team's first-round pick (No. 10) in the 2010 draft, made his NHL debut Dec. 12 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He leads the AHL in penalty minutes (115) and is tied for second among Wolf Pack defensemen with three goals.

Quote of the Day

You don't see many. The [Drew] Doughtys, the [P.K.] Subbans, those are guys that create offense from the back and then on top of that ability, the size that he has. In the West you play against some pretty big players, and being able to clear the crease and contain the [Ryan] Getzlafs and the [Corey] Perrys and [Anze] Kopitars and players like that, we're excited about him going back there.
