Middleton added to Top Prospects Game
Defenseman Jacob Middleton of the Ottawa 67's in the Ontario Hockey League has been added as an injury replacement in the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Calgary on Jan. 15, 2014.

Defenseman Jacob Middleton of the Ottawa 67's in the Ontario Hockey League has been added as an injury replacement in the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Calgary on Jan. 15, 2014.

The announcement was made by the Canadian Hockey League on Thursday.

Middleton, who is a C rated prospect on NHL Central Scouting's December players to watch list for the 2014 NHL Draft, will replace defenseman Nelson Nogier of the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League. Nogier, a B rated prospect on Central Scouting's list, is unable to participate due to an upper-body injury.

Middleton, 17, is in his second OHL season and first with the 67's. He has one goal and nine points in 31 games this season. Ottawa saw forward Sean Monahan play in the Top Prospects Game last year in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Monahan was the No. 6 pick in the 2013 draft by the Calgary Flames.
