Calgary Flames sign third round pick Keegan Kanzig to entry level contract

CALGARY - The Calgary Flames signed defenceman Keegan Kanzig to a three-year entry level contract on Thursday.

Kanzig, a native of Athabasca, Alta., was the Flames third round pick, and 67th overall, in the 2013 NHL draft.

He is in his third season with the Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League. In 30 games this season, the six-foot-six, 240-pound defenceman has two goals and two assists while accumulating 57 penalty minutes.

Quote of the Day

I'm hoping Bob [Murray] didn't go out and get Dany Heatley just to get someone. I'm sure he's excited and motivated.
