The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms with forward Scott Kosmachuk on a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract with an average annual value of $925,000.
Kosmachuk, 19, has a team-leading 25 goals along with 48 points and 56 penalty minutes in 34 games this season with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League. The Toronto, Ontario native has played in 237 career games with the Storm over four seasons, scoring 96 goals with 193 points and 296 career penalty minutes.
Kosmachuk was a third-round selection (No. 70) of the Jets in the 2012 NHL Draft.
You can be hyped all you want, but his game will speak for itself. He's obviously going to be a great player so we've got to make sure we keep an eye on him. Whether it's his first game or his 1,000th game, our job is to take care of business, shut him down.
