Capitals' Wilson faces disciplinary hearing
Washington Capitals' Tom Wilson faces disciplinary hearing.

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for a hit on Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn in a game Tuesday at Wells Fargo Center.

At 15:17 of the second period Wilson was assessed a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct. Wilson also received a five-minute major for fighting in the immediate aftermath of the hit.

Schenn did not return to the game due to an upper-body injury.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: charging. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

Philadelphia won the game 5-2.
