QMJHL Roundup: Peter Trainor scores in shootout as Rimouski edged Sherbrooke

RIMOUSKI, Que. - Peter Trainor scored in a shootout to lift the Rimouski Oceanic past the Sherbrooke Phoenix 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Thursday.

Trainor's goal came in the fifth round of the shootout after Alexis Loiseau, Anthony DeLuca and Michael Joly each scored in regulation for the Oceanic (17-11-6).

Jason Houde, Simon Desbiens with a short-handed goal and Jean-Francois Plante in the dying minutes scored for Sherbrooke (11-20-3).

Philippe Desrosiers finished with 21 saves for Rimouski, while Francis Desrosiers stopped 36 shots for Sherbrooke.

ARMADA 7 HUSKIES 4

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Samuel Hodhod and Danick Martel each scored twice as league-leading Blainville-Boisbriand outslugged the Huskies.

David Bedard, Antoine Dufort-Plante and Samuel Tremblay chipped in with singles for the Armada (23-5-5), who broke a 3-3 tie with three unanswered goals.

Dillon Fournier, Jean-Sebastien Dea, Gabriel Slight and Liam O'Brien scored for Rouyn-Noranda (19-10-3).

Armada goalie Etienne Marcoux finished with 29 saves. Alexandre Belanger was pulled from the Huskies' net after allowing three goals on four shots. Steven Veilleux took over and stopped 15 shots.
