The New York Rangers on Wednesday recalled defenseman Dylan McIlrath from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

The 10th pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, McIlrath is the AHL's leader in penalty minutes (115) and has three goals and four assists.

New York is winless in three straight games and four of its past five. Defenseman Marc Staal is sidelined with a concussion, and forward Ryan Callahan (second-degree MCL sprain) is out for the next 4-6 weeks.

Quote of the Day

That's a really tough thing to play through; when you finally are thrown out there, the game is fast, intense, every single play matters, you've got to find a way to play through that and make smart plays. So it's a huge testament to [Vermette] and some other individuals in our locker room that are putting their own ego, their own wants and needs aside, and are ready for those opportunities when they do come.
