Blackhawks G Corey Crawford leaves game vs. Panthers due to injury in 1st period

CHICAGO - Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is out of the game against the Florida Panthers because of an injury sustained with 6:15 left in the first period.

Crawford, the Blackhawks' top netminder, went down to make a pad save on Marcel Goc moments earlier on Sunday night and was unable to get back up on his skates.

He was helped from the ice by teammates and a trainer and was replaced by rookie Antti Raanta with Chicago leading 2-0.

Quote of the Day

I mean, hockey had to change the rules because of Marty, and that's impressive. I got two Stanley Cup rings because of the guy. Look at the banners of [Scott Niedermayer, Scott Stevens and Ken Daneyko] and Marty is right up there when you think about the New Jersey Devils; he was part of the core group and he'll go down as one of the greatest goalies ever.
