Lightning prospect Drouin injured in junior game
Jonathan Drouin, taken third in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, left his junior team's game Friday with concussion-like symptoms after being driven into the glass.

Jonathan Drouin, the third player taken in the 2013 NHL Draft, left the Halifax Mooseheads' game against the Quebec Remparts on Friday after being driven face-first into the glass by a potential future Tampa Bay Lightning teammate.

Drouin was hit by Quebec's Adam Erne during the first period of their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game, returned briefly to the bench then left for good with what the Mooseheads said were concussion-like symptoms.

He will be re-evaluated by team doctors Saturday.

Erne was assessed a major penalty for checking from behind and a game misconduct. The Remparts won 4-3 in a shootout.

The Lightning took Drouin with their first choice in the draft in June, then selected Erne in the second round (No. 33). Tampa Bay opted to return Drouin to juniors for another season, and he is scheduled to join Canada in a couple of weeks for the World Junior Championship selection camp.

Drouin was second in the QMJHL in scoring with 50 points, including 17 goals.
