Predators' Weber returns to practice after eye injury
Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber practiced Friday for the first time since he was hit in the eye with a puck on Nov. 27.

Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber returned to practice Friday.

Weber addressed the media Friday in Nashville for the first time since being hit in the eye with a puck during a 3-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 27. He said he lost vision in his right eye and it didn't begin to return until the following morning.

"[Friday] was a good day. It was good to be back out there skating with the guys and hopefully move forward going ahead this week," Weber told reporters.

He wore a visor during practice and said he will continue to wear one at least in the near future. Weber is a likely selection for Canada's team for the 2014 Sochi Olympics and visors are mandatory in that tournament.

Weber is tied for the Predators lead with seven goals and has 12 points in 26 games. He's fourth on the team with 55 shots on goal and seventh in the NHL in average ice time at 26:09 per game.

"When you can't see it's pretty scary," Weber said. "You can't see anything ... and you wonder if it's long term. You're just uncertain and you just have to wait and listen to what the doctors say and the guys that know that have dealt with these things before."
