Stars defenseman Daley leaves game with injury
Dallas Stars defenseman Trevor Daley left early in the second period Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs with an apparent leg injury.

Dallas Stars defenseman Trevor Daley left early in the second period Thursday against the Toronto Maple Leafs with what the team called a lower-body injury and did not return.

Daley was trying to slow Toronto forward James van Riemsdyk on a rush down the left wing in the opening minute of the second period at Air Canada Centre. The two became entangled, and Daley wiped out at the bottom of the circle, sliding into the corner.

Play was allowed to continue, and van Riemsdyk wound up feeding Nazem Kadri, who beat Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen for the game's first goal. Toronto won, 3-2, in overtime.

Daley was helped off the ice by two teammates and was unable to put any weight on his right leg. After the 3-2 overtime loss, coach Lindy Ruff said the injury was "nothing that will be short-term."

Quote of the Day

Obviously there's a lot of expectations around me but it's something I try not to focus on. I'm just trying to go out there, be myself on the ice every day, try to get better, be myself around the guys in the locker room. I think that's what's made me successful and the person that I am.
