Red Wings' Helm to miss at least two games
Detroit Red Wings center Darren Helm will miss at least two games due to fluid in his shoulder

The Detroit Red Wings reportedly have lost another key player after an MRI exam showed center Darren Helm has fluid in his shoulder. He will miss games against the New Jersey Devils on Friday and the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland made the announcement Thursday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Helm has seven goals and 10 points in 15 games since returning to the lineup after back and groin injuries limited him over the past year.

The Red Wings already are without top forwards Pavel Datsyuk, who is recovering from concussion symptoms, and Henrik Zetterberg, who is out with a herniated disc.

Quote of the Day

You don't see many. The [Drew] Doughtys, the [P.K.] Subbans, those are guys that create offense from the back and then on top of that ability, the size that he has. In the West you play against some pretty big players, and being able to clear the crease and contain the [Ryan] Getzlafs and the [Corey] Perrys and [Anze] Kopitars and players like that, we're excited about him going back there.
