The Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday signed center Cole Cassels to an entry-level contract, the terms of which were not released.
Cassels was a third-round pick (No. 85) in the 2013 NHL Draft and is the son of Andrew Cassels, who played 16 seasons in the League including a three-year stint with the Canucks from 1999-2002.
Cole Cassels ranks fourth in scoring this season for the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League with 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) in 24 games. His eight power-play goals are tied for the team lead.
