The Philadelphia Flyers visit one of their least-favorite places when they go to Joe Louis Arena for this week's Wednesday Night Rivalry game against the Detroit Red Wings (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN). The Flyers are 1-16 with two ties in Detroit since the start of the 1989-90 season, not including a pair of losses during the 1997 Stanley Cup Final.

Detroit won the first game between the teams this season, defeating the Flyers 5-2 at home on Oct. 12.

Quote of the Day

I don't think it's really truly going to sink in until we drop the puck, to be honest. I know there's going to be a lot of smoke and mirrors with the media attention and all that. We came [Monday] and it was sort of a light day to get things organized. We just want to focus in on the business aspect, the game itself. That's what we're preparing to do. Get these next couple of days out of the way and it's game on.
