NEW YORK -- The Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings today unveiled the specially-designed uniforms and jerseys they will wear when they face off in the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT. Fans can pre-order the jerseys in-person starting today at the Ducks Team Store Powered by Reebok and at Team LA at STAPLES Center for delivery in January.
The Ducks' and Kings' 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ uniforms utilize secondary colors within the teams' existing color palates. The Kings' uniform features the gray currently found in their primary logo and uniforms, while the Ducks' uniform features the orange currently found in their primary logo and uniforms as an accent color.
Each jersey features chrome-treated Ducks and Kings logo designs that are unique to the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ and inspired from the chrome details in the NHL® shield, bringing a dynamic and modern perspective to conventional team identities. The chrome crest was developed using new technology that fuses print and embroidery and allows logos to be displayed as a high-resolution image incorporated into the crest. This technology also reduces the weight of the crest, resulting in a lightweight jersey to help improve athlete performance.
The Ducks' and Kings' jerseys will each feature a new shoulder logo to signify the geographic rivalry between the two Southern California teams. The Ducks will wear an interlocked "OC" logo, while the Kings will wear a new "LA" ligature.
Numbering on the back of the jerseys is enlarged and sleeve numbers are angled to improve visibility in outdoor venues.
The Ducks' and Kings' 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series jerseys were designed with creative input from both teams, Reebok and the NHL.
"The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series jerseys showcase advancements in uniform design and production while celebrating the sport in a progressive and unique way," said Brian Jennings, NHL Chief Marketing Officer. "We incorporated design elements that improve the weight and wear for players and enhance the fan experience at the game."
The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series in Los Angeles will mark the first outdoor regular-season NHL game played in California and first hockey game at venerable Dodger Stadium.
The game between the Ducks and Kings will be telecast nationally in the U.S. on NBCSN and throughout Canada on CBC and RDS2. SiriusXM Satellite Radio will provide radio coverage.
