Devils place Larsson on injured reserve
The New Jersey Devils placed defenseman Adam Larsson (lower body) on injured reserve Sunday, retroactive to Nov. 23, and recalled forward Tim Sestito from Albany of the American Hockey League.

The New Jersey Devils placed defenseman Adam Larsson (lower body) on injured reserve Sunday, retroactive to Nov. 23, and recalled forward Tim Sestito from Albany of the American Hockey League.

Larsson was hurt during the third period of the Devils' Nov. 23 loss to the San Jose Sharks when he crashed into the boards. He has one goal, two assists and a minus-4 rating in 20 games.

Sestito has 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and 28 penalty minutes in 21 games with Albany. He is a possible replacement for Ryan Carter (facial lacerations), who will not make the trip Monday when the Devils play the Montreal Canadiens.

Carter, who is day-to-day, left the game Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres after a fight with Marcus Foligno 2:05 into the first period.

“He got cut and when he went down, he went down a little awkwardly too, so there’s a couple of things going on there,” Devils coach Peter DeBoer told The Record (N.J.) on Sunday.

Quote of the Day

Obviously a lot happened in a short period of time. At the end of the day, considering everything I went through, I really felt close to my teammates and I really feel like what we accomplished, I know we didn't win it all. ... I'm really proud of how we got there and what we did once we got there.
