Carolina's Westgarth to have hearing Tuesday
Carolina Hurricanes forward Kevin Westgarth will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Tuesday morning for a hit on Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Kevin Westgarth will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Tuesday morning for a hit on Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki on Sunday night at PNC Arena.

At 7:55 of the first period, Westgarth hit Borowiecki along the boards. Borowiecki was helped from the ice and did not return to the game.

Westgarth received a two-minute minor for boarding on the play.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

Carolina won the game, 4-1.
