The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled forward Nikita Kucherov and defenseman Dmitry Korobov from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, the Lightning announced Sunday.
Kucherov, 20, has played 17 games with the Crunch this season, posting team-highs for both goals (13) and points (24). He ranks second in the AHL and first on Syracuse with six power-play goals. The Moscow native leads all AHL rookies for goals and points.
The 5-foot-11, 178-pound forward posted a nine-game point streak (nine goals, nine assists) from Oct. 18 through Nov. 8. He was Tampa Bay's second-round pick (No. 58) at the 2011 NHL Draft.
Korobov, 24, made his NHL debut with the Lightning against the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 19. He was reassigned to the Crunch on Nov. 20. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defenseman has played 15 games with Syracuse this season; he has six assists and 15 penalty minutes. He ranks first on the Crunch with a plus-7 rating.
