Maple Leafs sign Brown to entry-level contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday signed 2012 sixth-round pick Connor Brown to a three-year, entry-level contract

Forward Connor Brown signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.

Brown, 19, was a sixth-round selection (No. 156) of the Maple Leafs in the 2012 NHL Draft. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward leads the Ontario Hockey League in scoring with 46 points (19 goals, 27 assists) in 23 games for the Erie Otters.

The native of Etobicoke, Ontario was named the OHL’s Player of the Week after totaling three goals and four assists in three games for the week ending Oct. 13. The Erie team captain also is representing the OHL against Russia in the 2013 Subway Super Series.

In 154 games with Erie in three seasons, Brown has 72 goals, 168 points and 63 penalty minutes.
