Ducks acquire Jackman from Flames for pick
The Calgary Flames traded veteran forward Tim Jackman to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday for a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.

The Anaheim Ducks acquired veteran forward Tim Jackman from the Calgary Flames on Thursday for a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.

Jackman, 32, has played 10 NHL seasons, the past four in Calgary, and has 24 goals, 64 points and 654 penalty minutes in 400 games. In 10 games with the Flames this season, Jackman had one goal and 41 penalty minutes. He had a season high 17 penalty minutes Nov. 5 and scored his first goal Nov. 7 in a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Jackman's best season came in 2010-11, when he had 23 points and was one of four Flames to appear in all 82 games.

A second-round selection (No. 38) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2001 NHL Draft, Jackman has played for the Blue Jackets, Phoenix Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings and New York Islanders.

The Flames recalled forward Blair Jones from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League. Jones' 20 points in 16 games leads the Heat and is sixth among AHL scoring leaders.

Quote of the Day

I think everybody wanted the puck tonight. Everybody wanted to be part of the solution and it reflected on the way we played. It's tiring when you have to chase the puck but tonight was one of those nights where everyone really wanted to make a play and wanted to have an impact on the game.
