Detroit Red Wings defenseman Brian Lashoff left the game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday due to flu symptoms and will not return.

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Brian Lashoff left the game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday due to flu symptoms and will not return.

Lashoff played seven shifts totaling 5:35 in the first period before being unable to continue.

The Red Wings also are without defenseman Danny DeKeyser, who is out with a shoulder injury.
