Red Wings put DeKeyser on long-term injured reserve
The Detroit Red Wings placed rookie defenseman Danny DeKeyser on long-term injured reserve Wednesday. DeKeyser sustained a left shoulder injury in the Red Wings' 2-0 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday and is expected to miss 3-6 weeks.

The Detroit Red Wings placed rookie defenseman Danny DeKeyser on long-term injured reserve Wednesday. DeKeyser sustained a left shoulder injury in the Red Wings' 2-0 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday and is expected to miss 3-6 weeks.

DeKeyser will have to sit out at least 10 games and 24 days per the guidelines associated with placing a player on long-term IR.

DeKeyser has nine points and a plus-5 rating in 22 games this season. He's averaging more than 20 minutes of ice time per game.
