Eddie Lack on Friday signed a two-year contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks. Financial terms of the deal were not released, but TSN reported Lack will make $1 million in 2014-15 and $1.3 million in 2015-16.
Lack could have become a restricted free agent in July.
In five games, Lack, 25, is 2-2-0 with a 2.41 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
Prior to this season, Lack had spent the previous three in the American Hockey League.
I don't have a crystal ball. Predicting is a real complicated thing. If we stay healthy, have enough depth and get the good goaltending we think we're going to have, you can go all the way. But a lot of things have to happen. There's going to be a lot of teams that think the same thing. Everyone made deals. We're all are optimistic about where we'll end up.
