OHL Roundup: Charlie Graham makes 57 saves as Belleville beats Kingston 6-3

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Charlie Graham stopped 57 shots for the Belleville Bulls in a 6-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs in the lone Ontario Hockey League game Wednesday.

Graham was especially good in the third period when Kingston failed to score despite outshooting the Bulls 25-13.

Garrett Hooey scored twice and had two assists for Belleville (5-12-4), while Remie Elie, Jordan Subban, Adam Laishram and Scott Simmonds added a goal apiece.

Slater Doggett, Darcy Greenaway and Roland McKeown replied for Kingston (10-7-3).

The Frontenacs couldn't match Graham in net. Starter Lucas Peressini was pulled after allowing three goals on 16 shots. His replacement, Matt Mahalak, stopped 31-of-33 shots.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
