Jones scores three goals, Street has a pair, Abbotsford beats Texas 7-3

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Blair Jones had three goals and two assists and the Abbotsford Heat won their eighth in a row, burning the Texas Stars 7-3 on Wednesday in American Hockey League play.

Ben Street scored twice and added a pair of assists, and Corban Knight and Brett Olson also scored for Abbotsford (11-4-1), which had period leads of 2-0 and 4-2.

Jones opened the scoring at 16:01 of the first, and Olson added a power-play goal 37 seconds later.

Colton Screviour, Scott Glennie and Francis Wathier replied for the Stars (8-4-2).

Joni Ortio was busy in the Heat net, turning back 43 shots.

Josh Robinson started in goal for the Stars, and was lifted at 13:08 of the first period. He was replaced by Cristopher Nilstorp, who allowed all six goals on 29 shots.

Abbotsford scored on all three of their power plays, while Texas was 1 for 5.
