ERIE, Pa. - Connor Brown had two goals and an assist as the Erie Otters defeated the Niagara IceDogs 5-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Monday.
Brown has a league-leading 42 points (17 goals, 25 assists) in 20 games this season. He scored two straight goals in the third period, with his second standing up as the game winner.
Dane Fox had a goal and three assists for Erie (16-3-1), which has the best record in the league. Andre Burakovsky and Hayden Hodgson also scored, and Stephen Harper added two assists.
Anthony DiFruscia scored twice for Niagara (6-11-3), while Eric Ming had the other IceDogs goal.
Devin Williams made 19 saves for Erie. Brent Moran stopped 36 shots for Niagara.
The Otters scored two power-play goals on seven chances, while the IceDogs went 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
