Predators G Pekka Rinne to remain sidelined at least a few more weeks following hip surgery

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Predators goalie Pekka Rinne, out since last month with a hip injury, had an MRI earlier in the week and hasn't had any setbacks.

Rinne had surgery on his left hip May 9 and recovered in time to start the season. He then had arthroscopic surgery on Oct. 24 because of a bacterial infection in his hip.

The team said he will remain on crutches and antibiotics for at least the next couple of weeks before another MRI later this month. In a statement Sunday, the Predators say they "expect a full and complete recovery."

Rinne is 4-4-1 with a 2.31 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage for Nashville this season.

Quote of the Day

I don't think it's really truly going to sink in until we drop the puck, to be honest. I know there's going to be a lot of smoke and mirrors with the media attention and all that. We came [Monday] and it was sort of a light day to get things organized. We just want to focus in on the business aspect, the game itself. That's what we're preparing to do. Get these next couple of days out of the way and it's game on.
