Getzlaf misses Ducks' game against Canucks because of upper-body injury

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Anaheim Ducks captain and leading scorer Ryan Getzlaf has been scratched from Sunday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks because of an upper-body injury.

Getzlaf has 10 goals and 12 points through his first 18 games, helping Anaheim vault to the top of the NHL overall standings.

The 9-year veteran, one of only five players on the Ducks' roster who helped them win their first Stanley Cup in 2006-07, recorded his first career hat trick with three goals in the first period of Friday night's 6-2 victory over Buffalo.

Quote of the Day

It was a big dream. [Messi] is probably the best athlete out there, so it's a big honor, for [Kuznetzov] as well. It's maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the best player in soccer right now. I'm a big Barcelona fan and Messi fan, so it's huge. You can take [Michael] Jordan, [Mark] Messier, [Wayne] Gretzky, those kinds of [people]. It's an honor to meet. It's nice to be in that position.
