Biron to serve as studio analyst on Rangers telecasts
Martin Biron, who announced his retirement last month after 16 successful seasons in the National Hockey League as a goaltender, will join MSG Network as a studio analyst for New York Rangers game telecasts for select games this season.

Martin Biron, who announced his retirement last month after 16 successful seasons in the National Hockey League as a goaltender, will join MSG Network as a studio analyst for New York Rangers game telecasts for select games this season.

The announcement was made by the Rangers on Monday.

Biron, 36, will make his first appearance on Tuesday during the pregame, intermission and postgame coverage when the Rangers host the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden.

Biron, who always had time for the media, win or lose, played in 508 career games with the Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers and finished with 230 wins and 28 shutouts. He retired on Oct. 20 and has since done broadcast work for both TSN and RDS.

His career began with the Sabres when he was 18 years old after being their first-round pick (No. 16) in 1995. His best season was 2001-02 with the Sabres when he played 72 games and won a career-high 31 games while posting a career-best 2.22 goals-against average.

As a member of the Flyers in 2007-08, he won 30 games and sported a career-high .918 save percentage. He led the Flyers to the Eastern Conference Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins before losing in five games.
