GAA: 2.55 | SVP: 0.913
Bryzgalov was a member of the Anaheim Ducks' 2007 Stanley Cup-winning team and won a bronze medal playing for Russia in the 2002 Winter Olympics. He became a free agent during the summer when his contract was bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers, who signed him to a nine-year deal in the summer of 2011.

"We get a goaltender that has a history of being a high-performer in parts of his career," Oilers general manager Craig MacTavish said, "and we get a guy who I think that's very motivated and he's going to have a chance to be a good goalie."

The native of Togliatti, Russia, has a 208-149-45 record in 425 regular-season NHL games with a goals-against average of 2.55, a .913 save percentage and 30 shutouts.

Bryzgalov in the Stanley Cup Playoffs has a 17-19 record with a 2.81 GAA, a save percentage of .908 and three shutouts.

The Oilers traded defenseman Ladislva Smid and minor-league goaltender Olivier Roy to the Flames in exchange for two minor leaguers, goaltender Laurent Brossoit and forward Roman Horak.
