Coyotes' Morris leaves with injury
The Phoenix Coyotes lost defenseman Derek Morris to an undisclosed injury in the first period of a game Tuesday night against the Vancouver Canucks.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Phoenix Coyotes lost defenseman Derek Morris to an undisclosed injury in the first period of a game Tuesday night against the Vancouver Canucks at Jobing.com Arena.

Morris played only 3:05 of the first period before heading to the dressing room. He came back to the bench later in the period, but did not return to the game, which the Coyotes won 3-2 in a shootout.

Morris was off to a great start this season with four goals and 10 points in the first 15 games.

Quote of the Day

He seemed to thrive on his own and didn't really need any push from me. I certainly don't want to get in the way of the coaches. You see how that goes sometimes. I never really worried about it and just enjoyed the ride.
