The Calgary Flames assigned goalie Joey MacDonald to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

The Calgary Flames assigned goalie Joey MacDonald to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

MacDonald was placed on waivers Saturday. He allowed four goals on 22 shots in a loss Friday to the Detroit Red Wings.

MacDonald is 3-3-1 with a 3.17 goals-against average and a .885 save percentage in seven games for the Flames.
