Daily Primer Nov. 3: Parise faces Devils for first time
Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise will see a lot of familiar faces Sunday night when he plays against the New Jersey Devils for the first time.

Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise is going to see an awful lot of familiar faces Sunday night.

For the first time since signing as a free agent with the Wild on July 4, 2012, Parise will face his former club, the New Jersey Devils, when the teams face each other at Xcel Energy Center (8 p.m. ET, MSG PLUS, FS-N).

Parise was New Jersey's first-round pick (No. 17) at the 2003 NHL Draft and helped the Devils reach the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.

"It will be really weird, I think," Parise told NJ.com. "You play with those guys for so long. I'm still good friends with a lot of the guys and I keep in touch with a lot of them."

Here's a look at all of the action scheduled for Sunday:

Dallas Stars at Ottawa Senators - Dallas is aiming to rebound from back-to-back losses against the Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche, although it rallied for a point against the Avalanche on Friday night by erasing a 2-0 deficit in the third period. The Senators are winless in their past four games (0-3-1) and allowed 57 shots in Friday night's 5-4 shootout loss to the New York Islanders at Canadian Tire Centre. Ottawa held a 2-0 lead after the first period, but couldn't hold on.

Calgary Flames at Chicago Blackhawks- The Flames (5-6-2) look to avoid a three-game skid after suffering back-to-back home losses to the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings. Sunday marks the beginning of a four-game road trip for Calgary, which placed goaltender Joey MacDonald on waivers Saturday. The Blackhawks play their next two games at United Center after earning a 5-1 road win against the Winnipeg Jets in a Saturday matinee. Corey Crawford made 26 saves for Chicago.

New Jersey Devils at Minnesota Wild - Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reported via Twitter on Saturday night that Devils goalie Cory Schneider traveled ahead of the team to Minnesota and will get the start against the Wild. Schneider hasn't played since Oct. 24 due to a lower-body injury. Minnesota (7-4-3) is playing the third of a four-game homestand. The Wild have split the first two games, falling to the Chicago Blackhawks last Monday before earning a 4-3 win against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
