Senators assign Pageau to AHL
The Ottawa Senators assigned forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League on Thursday.

The Ottawa Senators assigned forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League on Thursday.

Pageau, 20, started the 2013-14 season with Ottawa and had one goal in eight games.

He has three goals and five points in 17 career NHL games, and made a big impact in Game 3 of the 2013 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. His hat trick in the Senators' 6-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens made him only the second Ottawa player, after longtime captain Daniel Alfredsson, to score three goals in a playoff game. In 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games, Pageau has four goals, six points and eight penalty minutes.

Pageau was the Senators' fourth-round selection (No. 96) in the 2011 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut last season after scoring 29 points in 69 games for Binghamton.

Quote of the Day

I mean, any of those 14 teams (in the lottery) it would have been an absolute honor. If I am selected by Edmonton it will be amazing, a dream come true. They have a lot of amazing young players there.
