Capitals recall Latta, Orlov from AHL
The Washington Capitals on Wednesday recalled forward Michael Latta and defenseman Dmitry Orlov from the AHL

The Washington Capitals on Wednesday recalled center Michael Latta and defenseman Dmitry Orlov from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Latta made his NHL debut on opening night against the Chicago Blackhawks and has played in two games for the Capitals this season. He has two goals and four points in six games with Hershey.

Orlov is looking to make his season debut with the Capitals. He had three goals and 19 points in 60 games during the 2011-12 season. He had one assist in five games with the Capitals last season. Orlov has one goal and six points in six games with Hershey this season.

To make room on their roster, the Capitals also placed defenseman John Erskine (upper-body injury) on long-term injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 26.
