Winnipeg Jets send forward Patrice Cormier to AHL's St. John's IceCaps

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets have re-assigned forward Patrice Cormier to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Cormier, 23, appeared in three games with the Jets since being recalled on Oct. 17. He had no points and seven penalty minutes in that stretch.

He has one assist and 13 penalty minutes in four games with St. John's this season.

The Moncton, N.B., native has played in 43 career NHL games with Atlanta/Winnipeg, putting up one goal, one assist and 18 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round, 54th overall, in the 2008 draft.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
