Ducks' Koivu leaves game with injury
Anaheim Ducks forward Saku Koivu left Sunday's game and did not return after taking an elbow from Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky, who was given a game misconduct.

COLUMBUSColumbus Blue Jackets center Brandon Dubinsky was given a major for interference and a game misconduct when he elbowed Anaheim Ducks center Saku Koivu in the face at 19:25 of the second period Sunday at Nationwide Arena.

The Ducks said Koivu would not return for the third period. Dubinsky appeared to hit Koivu in the jaw.

Koivu, 38, entered Sunday with two goals and one assist in 11 games.

Quote of the Day

He seemed to thrive on his own and didn't really need any push from me. I certainly don't want to get in the way of the coaches. You see how that goes sometimes. I never really worried about it and just enjoyed the ride.
