MANCHESTER, N.H. - Tyler Toffoli scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Manchester Monarchs to a 5-3 victory over the visiting St. John's IceCaps in American Hockey League action on Saturday.
Linden Very chipped in with a goal and an assist, Tanner Pearson scored his fifth of the season, and Nick Shore rounded out the Monarchs' offence with his first on the year.
Jordan Weal chipped in with two assists as Manchester (6-1-3) rebounded from Friday night's 3-2 loss to the IceCaps (3-4-1).
Brenden Kichton, Andrew Gordon, and Kael Mouillierat scored for St. John's.
The Monarchs held the IceCaps off the scoreboard until the third period, when Kichton and Gordon scored within 90 seconds of each other to pull within two goals.
Mouillierat added a power-play goal two minutes later to make it a 4-3 game, but Pearson's goal at 17:38 of the final period sealed the win for Manchester.
St. John's was 1 for 8 on the power play while the Monarchs capitalized on the man advantage, scoring two goals on four opportunities.
Monarchs goalie Martin Jones made 21 saves while Jussi Olkinuora stopped 26 shots for the IceCaps.
