Columbus Blue Jackets recall forward Michael Chaput from Springfield of the AHL

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Michael Chaput from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

The move was announced on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Chaput has two goals and two assists in six games with Springfield this season. As a rookie last season, he had 13 goals and 19 assists in 73 games with the Falcons.

Chaput, Philadelphia's first pick — No. 89 overall in the 2010 NHL draft — was acquired by Columbus along with Greg Moore from the Flyers for Tom Sestito on Feb. 28, 2011.

Quote of the Day

We have no doubt how he can play. You don't, with four teams that are left, you're not getting here without good goaltending. All great goalies left, and [Bishop] is a top-tier goaltender in this league and he's shown it.
