Rangers' Lundqvist questionable with minor issue
New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist is dealing with a "minor issue" and missed practice for a second straight day Tuesday.

New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist is dealing with a minor issue and missed practice for a second straight day Tuesday.

Lundqvist is day-to-day and could sit out the team's next game, Thursday at the Philadelphia Flyers.

"I can't say 100-percent sure that [Lundqvist] is going to be good to go on Thursday, but I can't say 100-percent sure that he's not going to be there," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said Tuesday "He's getting better. He's got something that he's been dealing with here for a little bit of time, and since we had four days in between games we figured it was the right time to try and nip this in the bud here."

Lundqvist is 2-4-0 with a 3.45 goals-against average and .890 save percentage in seven games; in his most recent outing he allowed four goals on 19 shots Saturday in a 4-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils.

If Lundqvist can't play Thursday, 26-year-old Cam Talbot, called up to replace Martin Biron on the roster when Biron was placed on waivers, likely would make his NHL debut.

"They haven't told me anything yet," Talbot said of whether he potentially could start.

Quote of the Day

It was the look in his eyes. Hockey is the most important thing in his life. He wants to be a hockey player, and nothing's going to stop him from being a hockey player.
