Stars' Garbutt to have in-person hearing Wednesday
Dallas Stars left wing Ryan Garbutt will have an in-person hearing Wednesday with the NHL Department of Player Safety for an incident against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night at Honda Center.

Dallas Stars left wing Ryan Garbutt will have an in-person hearing Wednesday with the NHL Department of Player Safety for an incident against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night at Honda Center.

Garbutt was offered the opportunity for an in-person hearing as required by provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for any suspension that can exceed five games.

At approximately 5:28 of the second period, Garbutt hit Ducks forward Dustin Penner as Penner released a pass in the Dallas zone. There was no penalty called. Penner was helped to the dressing room and did not return. The Ducks announced via Twitter that Penner was being evaluated, but had full mobility and was walking under his own power.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: charging and illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

Anaheim won the game, 6-3.
