The New York Rangers on Sunday recalled forwards Chris Kreider and Brandon Mashinter and goaltender Cam Talbot from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Forward Darroll Powe and goaltender Jason Missiaen were reassigned to Hartford.

Kreider will be making his season debut for the Rangers. He has two goals, both on the power play, and four points for Hartford. Kreider had two goals and one assist in 23 games with the Rangers last season, then added the overtime goal in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the Boston Bruins. In 26 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, he has six goals and nine points.

Mashinter was scoreless in four games with the Rangers last season. He has played in 17 NHL games with the Rangers and San Jose Sharks.

Talbot is looking to make his NHL debut. He has won each of his last four AHL contests, and is 4-0-1 with a 2.49 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in five games this season. Talbot is currently tied for the league lead with four wins and ranks third in the AHL with 158 saves.

Quote of the Day

I would definitely love to play with him. He's a skilled player and over the years he definitely has shown that he can score a lot of goals. I think it would work out well.
