Islanders' Grabner facing hearing
New York Islanders forward Michael Grabner will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday.

New York Islanders forward Michael Grabner will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday for an incident against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

At approximately 6:42 of the first period, Grabner collided with Hurricanes forward Nathan Gerbe in the left wing faceoff circle, sending Gerbe to the ice. There was no penalty called on the play and Gerbe took his regular shifts throughout the game.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

Carolina won the game, 4-3.
