Schneider to make back-to-back starts for Devils
Cory Schneider will start consecutive games for the first time this season when the New Jersey Devils travel to face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Cory Schneider will start consecutive games for the first time this season when the New Jersey Devils travel to face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Devils coach Peter DeBoer made the announcement Sunday according to Devils beat writers Rich Chere and Tom Gulitti.

Schneider is coming off a 22-save shutout performance in a 4-0 win over the New York Rangers on Saturday. It was the Devils' first win of the season, but Schneider has been solid in four starts with a 1.99 goals-against average and .927 save percentage.

Schneider started the Devils' season opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins, which ended Martin Brodeur's streak of consecutive opening night starts at 18. Brodeur then started back-to-back games against the New York Islanders and Edmonton Oilers, the only other time this season one of the goalies has played in consecutive games. Brodeur is 0-2-2 with a 3.40 GAA and .865 save percentage.
