Drew Doughty gets tiebreaker, Justin Williams scores twice in Kings' 5-2 victory over Dallas

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Drew Doughty scored the tiebreaking goal early in the third period, and Justin Williams had two goals and an assist in the Los Angeles Kings' 5-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.

Kyle Clifford added a third-period goal, and Matt Greene scored a deflected empty-net goal from deep in the Kings' end with 29 seconds to play. Anze Kopitar had three assists in the Kings' return to Staples Center after going 3-1-0 on a four-game trip.

Captain Jamie Benn had two assists and Dan Ellis stopped 29 shots in his fourth straight start in place of injured starter Kari Lehtonen.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
