Linus Omark scores twice as Oklahoma City holds on to beat Abbotsford 4-3

OKLAHOMA CITY - Linus Omark scored twice for the Oklahoma City Barons in a 4-3 win over the Abbotsford Heat in American Hockey League play Friday.

Omark scored both goals in the first period and the Barons went on to take a 4-0 into the second period.

Derek Nesbitt and Anton Lander also scored for the Barons (3-3-0), while Richard Bachman made 41 saves.

The Heat (2-2-1) put pressure on Oklahoma City with three unanswered goals from Ben Hanowski, Roman Horak and Brett Olson.

Reto Berra allowed all four goals on 19 shots before being replaced in Abbotsford's net by Laurent Brossoit, who made nine saves.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
