The Minnesota Wild announced Friday that they have reassigned goaltender Darcy Keumper to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.
Kuemper was called up by the Wild on Oct. 14 and started in Toronto on Tuesday night, stopping four of seven shots before being pulled for Josh Harding in Minnesota's 4-1 loss against the Maple Leafs.
Kuemper's call-up was necessitated by the knee strain suffered by starting goaltender Niklas Backstrom on Oct. 8 in a game against the Nashville Predators. But Backstrom dressed on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning and served as Harding's backup.
In seven career NHL games, Kuemper is 1-3-0 with a 2.44 goals-against average and .897 save percentage.
