Flyers' Timonen day-to-day with lower-body injury
Philadelphia Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said Friday that defenseman Kimmo Timonen is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Philadelphia Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said Friday that defenseman Kimmo Timonen is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Holmgren said he expects Timonen to be back at practice Monday. The Flyers don't play again until Oct. 24, at home against the New York Rangers.

Timonen left the Flyers' 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday with 5:56 remaining in the second period.

The 38-year-old defenseman has no points and a minus-2 rating in eight games. He's third on the team with an average of 20:37 of ice time per game.
